About Emmanuel Obile
Emmanuel Obile Joshua is a native of Nassarawa Eggon, Nassarawa State, Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Painting from the Federal University of Lafia, in Nassarawa State. Under the mentorship of Unyime Edet, he honed his skills as a contemporary figurative painter, infusing his paintings with deeper meanings through emotional expressions. Joshua's artistic statement underscores his profound obsession and concern for the human figure. Every pose and mood of his models become a rich source of inspiration, with body postures and facial expressions conveying volumes of messages that connect to life experiences. His aim is to educate and communicate these life experiences to viewers, inviting them to understand the stories and beauty encapsulated within. In specific series of paintings, Joshua explores the symbolism of feathers and their association with freedom, purity, innocence, and peace. Using vibrant colors and expressive brushstrokes, he captures the emotional significance of feathers and the profound feelings they evoke.
